Premium Lens Cataract surgery

At Southland Eyecare we are excited to offer the most cutting edge technology available in the United States. Cataract surgery has witnessed an an unprecedented growth in options, technological advancements, and treatment options and we are thrilled to be able to make these advancements available to our patients!


Intraocular lens (IOL).

The physicians at that at southland Eye care now have the ability to implant a variety of high technology intraocular lenses for our patients. These new (IOLS) potentially give patients an opportunity to see clearly in all ranges of vision.

1| Astigmatism Correction: There are a variety of new technologies which help correct corneal astigmatism in our patients eyes. The result of using this technology is much shaper eyesight possibly without the need of corrective eyewear.

2| Near and far vision: There are multiple lenses (IOLS) currently available in the United States to fix both near and far vision at the time of cataract surgery. The doctors at southland Eye Care routinely use these lenses in patients that are acceptable candidates for this technology.

Symfony® Toric IOL

Crystalens is an accommodating intraocular lens that, unlike a standard IOL, can treat both a person's cataracts and presbyopia-loss of near and intermediate vision. Crystalens not only treats your cataracts (a clouding or hardening of your lens), but can also reduce or eliminate your dependence on glasses.

It does so by recreating accommodation similar to your eye's natural lens. The unique Crystalens can reduce or eliminate glasses for most activities, including: reading a book, working on the computer, and driving a car

Restor® Multifocal IOL  

Crystalens is an accommodating intraocular lens that, unlike a standard IOL, can treat both a person's cataracts and presbyopia-loss of near and intermediate vision. Crystalens not only treats your cataracts (a clouding or hardening of your lens), but can also reduce or eliminate your dependence on glasses.

The Femtosecond Laser-

Another amazing breakthrough in technology is the advent of the femtosecond laser. This new laser has the ability to automate multiple parts of the cataract surgery procedure. The laser images the eye, makes perfect incisions, can break up the cataract and treat stigmatism.
