Contact Lens Fitting

It's important to understand that a comprehensive eye exam typically does not include a contact lens fitting, and therefore you will not be given a contact lens prescription at the end of a routine eye exam.

A contact lens exam that includes fitting services typically is done during a subsequent office visit, when your pupils are not dilated. Your contact lens exam may be performed by the same eye doctor who performed your comprehensive eye exam, or it may be done by a their opthalmic technician who specializes in contact lens wear.

* Please note- contact lens fittings are not always covered by insurance plans. Please inquire with staff regarding your personal coverage when booking your appointment.

Are Contact Lens And Eyeglass  Prescriptions The Same?

NO! Contact lens prescriptions and eyeglass prescriptions are not the same. They are significantly different because eyeglass lenses are positioned approximately 12 millimeters from your eyes, whereas contact lenses rest directly on the surface of your eyes.

If you want to wear both contact lenses and eyeglasses, you will need two separate prescriptions.
